Glazed Ham

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350

  2. Take out your ham, pat dry

  3. Place in a cooking pan

  4. Pour a bottle of beer overtop

  5. Cover with tinfoil and put in the oven. 8-12lb, 1hr15min-1hr45min. 12+lb, 1hr30min-2hr.

  6. Remove from oven

  7. Pour away the beer, you can also put this liquid is a saucepan to reduce and make a sauce.

  8. Take off rind, this will come off very easily. Like a piping hot mandarin orange peel, watch you fingers!

  9. Score the meat and put on a glaze. Rub the glaze onto the ham and into all the scored cuts. There are many glazes you can use. A basic version is to combine brown sugar, Dijon mustard and orange juice.

  10. Put back in the over uncovered for 20-30min.

  11. Let rest for 15min before you carve.
